  1. File Menu "Decode - Smart..."

  3. Normally, you should choose this menu item if you have a uuencoded file to decode.  You
  4. will then be asked to locate the file that you wish to decode.  The uuencoded format is
  5. the format that most gifs and jpegs are in when they are posted to Internet News (see
  6. Read News Tutorial).

  8. "Decode - Smart" knows how to strip headers from files posted in the News format.  No
  9. manual editing is required.  If a file is comprised of more than one article, it's very
  10. important that the articles be in the correct order.  "Decode - Smart" will not rearrange
  11. parts.

  13. "Decode - Smart" will decode files containing more than one output file
  14. (e.g., an input file containing 3 gifs comprised of 12 news articles).

  16. UULite uses "Decode - Smart" for "Drag and Drop Decoding" (System 7).
